Formerly Assistant Professor at IIM (previously NITIE) Mumbai, Dr. K. V. Krishna Kumar (B.E.Honours , BITS Pilani, M.Tech , IIT Bombay, Ph.D, IIT Bombay ) started Kaizen Academy in March 1997 with a vision to coach and mentor students preparing for competitive examinations. He understands that each student is unique and with hard work every one can achieve their full potential. Fondly known as K.K Sir by his students, Dr. Krishna Kumar is deeply committed to connect with students in this important phase of their lives by focusing on mindful preparation rather than stressful preparation that is common in today's world.

With Kaizen Foundation Courses, Dr. Krishna Kumar wants to strengthen the basics concepts at school level for the students which should be the strong foundations for their preparation towards higher studies. Having been the AP State Board Topper in 1977 during his Class 10 examination, he fully realizes the importance of excelling at school and board level examinations in addition to competitive examinations.
Dr. Krishna Kumar is a proud father of 2 successful children. His daughter, Akhila Kakani, currently works at Google San Francisco (USA), has an M.B.A (International Business) from Indian Institute of Foreign Trade-Delhi and is a Gold medalist in B.Tech (Computer Science) from Andhra University College of Engineering. His son, Avinash Kakani, currently works at McKinsey Bengaluru has done M.B.A from Management Development Institute (MDI Gurgaon) and graduated from IIIT-Hyderabad in B.Tech (Computer Science).
At the age of 63, Dr. Krishna Kumar continues to harbour positive energy and the same enthusiasm he had when Kaizen first started more than 27 years ago. There cannot be a better proof than the Rank 7 he secured in the Andhra Pradesh Integrated Common Entrance Test (A.P ICET) in 2018, out of 48,635 students who attempted the examination.
